چکیده

The aims of this study were to determine surface urban heat island (SUHI) effects and analyze the land use/land cover (LULC) temperature (LST) changes for 11 time periods from years 2002 2020 using Landsat series images. Bursa, which is fourth largest metropolitan city in Turkey, was selected as area, multi-temporal images summer season used. Firstly, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), soil-adjusted (SAVI), modified water (MNDWI) index-based built-up (IBI) created bands images, LULC classes determined by applying automatic thresholding. LST values calculated thermal SUHI determined. results show that NDVI, SAVI, MNDWI IBI indices can be used effectively determination urban, studies, with overall classification accuracies between 89.60% 95.90% According obtained results, generally increased almost all areas 2020. magnitudes computed two methods, it found there an important increase 18-year period.

Surface Urban Heat Island Analysis of Shanghai (China) Based on the Change of Land Use and Land Cover

In this paper, we present surface urban heat island (SUHI) analysis of Shanghai (China) based on the change in land use and land cover using satellite Landsat images from 2002 to 2013. With the rapid development of urbanization, urban ecological and environmental issues have aroused widespread concern. The urban heat island (UHI) effect is a crucial problem, as its generation and evolution are ...

Rapid Urban Growth in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal: Monitoring Land Use Land Cover Dynamics of a Himalayan City with Landsat Imageries

The Kathmandu Valley of Nepal epitomizes the growing urbanization trend spreading across the Himalayan foothills. This metropolitan valley has experienced a significant transformation of its landscapes in the last four decades resulting in substantial land use and land cover (LULC) change; however, no major systematic analysis of the urbanization trend and LULC has been conducted on this valley...

The Investigation of Variability of Heat Island Hazard According to Land Use and Land Cover Changesin Esfahan

Abstract Urban heat island (UHI) is one of the environmental phenomenon which has made difficult environmental conditions for citizen. This study aims to evaluate the spatial and locational variability of Esfahan urban heat island according to the role of land use. Thus an area about 190.2 square kilometers (km2) in Esfahan, as the microclimate, was studied. In order to analyze the relations...

Microclimate land surface temperatures across urban land use/ land cover forms

Urbanization brings biophysical changes in the composition of the landscape. Such change has an impact on the thermal environment locally. The urban mosaic of land use and land cover is thus characteristically composed of local climate zones. The spatial variation in the land surface temperature across specific zone is studied for Bhopal city. The objective of the study was to understand how th...

Impact of urban land cover change on land surface temperature

The rapid growth in urban population is seen to create a need for the development of more urban infrastructures. In order to meet this need, natural surfaces such as vegetation are been replaced with non-vegetated surfaces such as asphalt and bricks which has the ability to absorb heat and release it later. This change in land cover is seen to increase the land surface temperature. Previous stu...
